Multiple VOD Launches
GLDS Successfully
Installs Multiple
VOD Interfaces
(Carlsbad, CA – February 2004) – Great Lakes Data Systems, Inc. (GLDS) has completed successful VOD integration and installation with several leading VOD providers.
The Seachange Internationalã integration was tested and installed at Willamette Broadband during mid-2003, as a joint integration with Microsoft and Great Lakes Data Systems on a Motorola DAC6000 platform. VOD was launched first for company employees, then made available to all digital subscribers.
nCUBE integration was completed during late 2003, and first implemented at Starstream in Rocklin, CA. Starstream uses WinCableâ and SuperControllerâ products from Great Lakes Data Systems for billing and authorization of analog, digital, PPV, and VOD services. nCUBE VOD installation is now scheduled for installation at Wave Broadband.
Real-time file integration and testing with N2Broadband was completed for installation in Shrewsbury, MA where the city-operated cable organization selected GLDS products for S.A. analog and digital control, PPV, and VOD services. A single convergent bill is produced for all cable and utility services in Shrewsbury’s municipal system.
GLDS has now released its open API for two-way, real time integration with all major VOD providers, including Concurrent Computer Corp., and others, who are now finalizing integration. The API, designed by GLDS software engineers, is available to any VOD provider as an open protocol for full-featured VOD/billing interface.
