NAS-RAC Completed
GLDS Successfully Deploys NAS-RAC Billing & Provisioning
(Carlsbad, CA – January 2005) – Great Lakes Data Systems, Inc. (GLDS) has completed successful launch of its provisioning interface for the NAS-RAC architecture.
The City of Sallisaw, Oklahoma selected WinCable® and SuperController® from GLDS to provide billing, subscriber management, and advanced provisioning services in its city-wide municipal offerings. The new Fiber to the Premises system includes digital cable, pay-per-view, high speed data, and local telephone service, all billed on a single customer invoice.
The Sallisaw project required an SQL application, Windows GUI, proven database integrity, and scalability. Support for real-time Video On Demand (VOD), automated credit card billing, and subscriber self-care via Internet were also required. GLDS was able to provide a fully integrated suite of solutions, including its CableAnytime web module, to meet the requirements of the City of Sallisaw.
The Digital Video and PPV architecture selected by the City of Sallisaw required deployment of the latest WireLink® protocol from Motorola, with support for NAS-RAC. “The implementation went very smoothly,” according to addressable engineer Kevin Graese. “Our customers benefit from the expanded DAC6000 700 series commands, improved diagnostics, and from the faster, lower-cost VPN connectivity with Motorola in San Diego.”
